New General Manager at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan
Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan has announced Karthi VK’s appointment as its new General Manager. This appointment marks a new chapter for the hotel’s growth and guest experience strategy in the heart of Dhaka’s premier business district.

With over 18 years of experience across leading hotel brands such as The Oberoi, Trident, and Crowne Plaza, Karthi VK is a seasoned hotelier known for delivering operational excellence, stakeholder value, and people-centric leadership.
Karthi VK most recently led the pre-opening and launch of Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu Naxal, marking the return of the IHG brand to Nepal after a three-year gap. During his tenure, the property received several industry recognitions, including Best New Hotel Opening of 2024 across IHG’s India, Middle East, and Africa region, Best New Business Hotel in Nepal, and a personal award for Best New General Manager at the 19th Hospitality International Tourism and Travel Awards.
Karthi’s management approach emphasizes attention to operational detail, focusing on guest experience and employee development. While in Nepal, the hotel reported high guest satisfaction and low staff turnover, and was involved in local community initiatives, including fundraising for child welfare programs.
He now takes on the role of General Manager at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan. The hotel features 149 rooms, multiple dining venues, a rooftop pool, and meeting facilities, and targets both business and leisure travellers in Dhaka’s urban market.
