Radisson Hotel Group continues to expand its presence in Romania with a series of new developments. Recognizing Romania as a key market for development, these projects will enhance the Group’s portfolio and offer unique experiences for both business and leisure travellers.
One of the additions is the recent signing of Radisson RED Bucharest Old Town. This new project involves the transformation of an office building dating back to the 1940s, historically serving as the offices for the Institute of Hydroelectric Studies. The building will be fully renovated and repurposed to provide 104 guest rooms in the historic Old Town area, offering guests a unique blend of modern amenities and historical charm. Radisson RED Bucharest Old Town will be the first Radisson RED property in the country when it opens in 2027 and the fourth hotel of the Group in Bucharest, which has been identified as a key city for growth for the Group. The hotel will boast a restaurant and bar, a lobby incorporating a co-working lounge and an outdoor terrace, and versatile meeting spaces. The multipurpose room, spanning 100 m², and a pop-up venue on the fifth floor will cater to meetings, events, product launches, and social functions.
Further enhancing the diverse offerings in the region, Radisson Hotel Group presents Radisson Blu Grand Mountain Resort, Brasov, with the opening scheduled for early 2027. Nestled amidst the Carpathian Mountains, this resort will offer an idyllic escape for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Guests can indulge in luxury accommodations, spa treatments, and gourmet dining while exploring the breathtaking landscape. The resort will feature a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and mountain biking, making it a year-round destination for travellers looking to experience Romania’s natural beauty.
Additionally, the Radisson Blu Resort & Residences, Mamaia, set to open in 2028, promises to elevate the luxury travel experience in Romania’s premier seaside resort. Located on the Black Sea coast, this project will feature 234 hotel rooms and 102 branded residences. Guests will enjoy rooms with panoramic sea views, a lobby bar and restaurant with a terrace, and an outdoor pool bar. The resort will also offer a grand ballroom and meeting spaces, making it ideal for both leisure and business travellers. Unique features include a 500m² spa and fitness center. The property will include Presidential Suites with large terraces and duplex apartments, ensuring a comprehensive and luxurious experience for all visitors.
The highly anticipated Radisson Lagoon Hotel Bucharest will be located within Bucharest’s Central District Lagoon City. This upscale urban resort-style hotel will feature 323 rooms, spa, a 1,100 sqm exclusive sandy beach, and access to a 10,000 sqm lagoon. Guests will enjoy rooms with panoramic lagoon views, dining options, and numerous commercial areas. The resort will also offer a wellness center and multiple swimming pools, ensuring a comprehensive and luxurious experience for all visitors.

The country’s recent accession to the Schengen Area is expected to boost travel, trade, and tourism by eliminating border controls and facilitating easier movement of capital. This development, combined with Romania’s size, rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities, makes it a candidate for focused growth.”
