IHG Expands in India with New Holiday Inn Express

IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Kevit Retreats Private Limited to develop the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Pithampur. The hotel is expected to open in the first quarter of 2028. This development aligns with the brand’s strategy to expand in high-demand markets and provide quality branded hospitality in secondary markets across India.

Holiday Inn Express, the fastest-growing hotel brand under IHG, boasts over 3,200 hotels worldwide and is designed to make travel simple and efficient. This brand is increasingly becoming the top choice for travellers looking for a convenient and welcoming place to rest, recharge, and work.

Holiday Inn Express prioritizes what matters most by offering streamlined service, thoughtful design, and comfortable accommodations at every stage of your journey. With the introduction of its Generation 5 concept, the brand enhances the guest experience through design and value, reinforcing its position as a leader in the category across EMEAA.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pithampur is located in Pithampur, which is part of the rapidly expanding Indore Metropolitan Region. This hotel will be situated within a large-scale mixed-use development that includes industrial, logistics, and warehousing facilities. This prime location enables the hotel to serve a growing number of business travellers visiting the region’s industrial and automotive sectors. The hotel will feature 150 rooms, two dining options, meeting spaces, a fitness centre, and parking, ensuring guests enjoy a comfortable and efficient stay.

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “The signing of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pithampur reinforces our focus on tapping into new markets and bridging the gap for world class branded hospitality experiences. Pithampur, located in Madhya Pradesh, has emerged as a key industrial powerhouse, particularly in the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. The growing volume of business travel into the region makes it an ideal location for a brand like Holiday Inn Express, which is designed to meet the needs of today’s short-stay, purpose-driven travellers. We are pleased to partner with Kevit Retreats Private Limited for this upcoming project.”

Aditya Agarwal, Kevit Retreats Private Limited, added, “We are proud to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring the Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand to Pithampur. As the region continues to transform into a core economic zone for central India, we see strong potential for quality accommodation that meets international standards. With IHG’s global expertise and brand recognition, we are confident the hotel will emerge as a preferred choice for business travellers.”

Pithampur, located in Madhya Pradesh, is recognized as one of central India’s leading industrial zones, with a high concentration of major automobile and pharmaceutical companies. The region is also home to NATRAX, one of Asia’s largest automotive testing facilities, which attracts a diverse range of automotive professionals and industry stakeholders. Additionally, Pithampur features India’s first greenfield Special Economic Zone (SEZ), further solidifying its position as a high-potential business hub. These key developments drive demand for quality hospitality infrastructure, making the location ideal for a globally recognized hotel brand.

IHG operates 50 hotels in India across six brands: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. Additionally, there is a strong pipeline of 63 hotels scheduled to open over the next 3 to 5 years.
