United and Association of Flight Attendants Reach Agreement

Flight Attendants and United Settle Dispute

In collaboration with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, United Airlines has revealed a pact that promises top-tier wages and various enhancements for United’s 28,000 flight attendants, contingent upon ratification.

The final contract language will be finalized in the next few days. After that, the agreement requires approval from the AFA’s Master Executive Council, which includes all Local Presidents. If they approve, the tentative agreement will be presented for ratification by the flight attendants. Upon ratification, flight attendants will not only receive industry-leading wages but also a signing bonus and various improvements to scheduling and quality of life. The new contract will be open to amendments in five years.

“Our flight attendants are the best in the industry and have earned an industry-leading contract,” said United CEO Scott Kirby.

“I often say they are the face of our operation and the role they play every day – to keep people safe and deliver great service – helps make United the biggest and best airline in aviation history.”

United expresses gratitude to both negotiating teams and the National Mediation Board for their efforts in reaching this agreement.
