ITB Berlin 2025: Day 1 Highlights
With a record 5,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries and a completely packed schedule, ITB Berlin 2025 is off to a terrific start. Today, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show welcomes exhibitors, buyers, and trade visitors from the global travel sector. With the theme “The World of Travel lives here,” the program will once again establish the benchmark for international travel in the future.
At yesterday’s Opening Ceremony, Albania, the official host country of ITB Berlin 2025, wowed the crowd with an incredible performance. Speaking on behalf of Albania was Prime Minister Edi Rama. Additional speakers included Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin; Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism); Julia Simpson, President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC); Dieter Janecek, Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Industry and Tourism; and Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin.
Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, welcomed guests to the historic Marshall House today for the opening press conference on the eve of ITB Berlin and gave a preview of the events that will take place over the following three days. He provided important numbers, highlights of the ITB Berlin Convention, and a perspective for the upcoming year with exciting news about ITB’s activities outside of the German capital, in addition to some intriguing developments.
